Veniard Parachute / Gallows Tool
OK, none of my witticisms. Fix it to your vice stem. Position the hook above the point on your fly where you want the parachute post to stand. Hang your hackle pliers from the hook and use them to grip the para post. You might have to fiddle about with the position of the gallows tool on your vice stem to get the height above the fly right. A useful 'third hand'
